First of the diesel-powered models shown at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017

JCB, which recently announced its entry into the aerial lift market with a full range of scissor lifts, has now indicated its plans to expand its lift equipment line further with the introduction of five articulated boom lifts by the end of 2017. Four diesel-powered models will offer lift heights from 50 to 100 ft. and an electric model will have a lift height of 45 ft. All models will incorporate secondary guarding for added safety.

The first of the models, the AJ50D, was on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. Powered by a 50-hp JCB by Kohler diesel engine, the 15,543-lb. lift has a 49-ft. 2-in. articulated boom with a basket capacity of 551 lbs. The basket includes a side entry gate for safe entry and exit and rotates 160°. Three joysticks individually control boom, drive and slew functions. The all-new digital control panel shows machine position/angle and provides details on machine performance, including the engine and hydraulic system. The machine measures 7 ft. 5 in. wide, and includes standard oscillating axles that allow for improved traction on uneven ground.
